Located in the historic center of the city, the building has changed many uses, suffered partial destruction during the Second World War, several additions and reconstructions during its one hundred and twenty-year history. The building, which is a listed building, originally housed a restaurant on the first floor with guest rooms on the second. In Soviet times, the building with an extension housed the design institute “Miskbudproekt”. Today, the office function continues with the new state organization.
Complex restoration works included restoration of window and door openings, facing and masonry of facades, renewal of facade painting, roof etc. In some places the layering of the facade paint contained up to 10 different layers, but the color as close as possible to the current color recorded in the documents of the architectural monument was chosen.
